Definition of Islam is, “Submitting to the will of Allah (the only true god who deserves to be worshiped) and obeying his laws”.
Importance of Seeking Knowledge In Islam
Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) says in the Qur’an:
رْفَعِ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلْعِلْمَ دَرَجَـٰتٍۢ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ خَبِيرٌۭ
Allah will exalt those who believe among you and those who have knowledge to high ranks
[Surah Al Mujaadalah (58):11]
Also, mentioned in the Qur’an:
وَقُلْ رَ ب زِدْنِِ عِلْمًا
and say my lord, increase me in knowledge
[Surah Taha (20):114]
Hadees Regarding Seeking Knowledge
Abu Hurayrah (RA) reported that the messenger of Allah said:
)رواه مسلم ( “من سلك طريقاً يلتمس فيه علماً سهل الله له به طريقاً إلى الجنة”
“A person who follows a path for acquiring knowledge Allah will make easy the passage for paradise for him.”
